A significant part of data technology is learned in practice. At the same time, the profession requires up-to-date technical knowledge, safe working practices, and attention to quality.

That is why we established the HTC Academy. Through the Academy, we develop and organize courses and training programs for our data professionals. These are closely aligned with their day-to-day responsibilities and our job profiles.

In this way, our employees continue to develop their knowledge and skills, and together we invest in the quality and professionalization of the trade.

 

Learning and development within HTC

The HTC Academy is the umbrella name for learning and development within HTC International. Within the Academy, we combine vocational training with learning on projects, guidance from experienced colleagues, and regular evaluation moments.

We look at what someone needs for their current position and which development suits his or her ambitions. Employees can take individual education and training courses. For advancement to a next position, we have developed ‘growth paths’.

 

Growth paths within the HTC Academy

A ‘growth path’ makes it clear which knowledge, practical experience, and skills are needed to grow into a next position.

Various components come together within such a growth path. You follow relevant education and training, carry out practical assignments, and discuss your progress during fixed evaluation moments. Development in practice ultimately determines whether you are ready for the next step.

We have growth paths per position. One of the growth paths focuses on the progression from apprentice data technician to data technician.

 

From apprentice data technician to data technician

The first growth path guides apprentice data technicians in their development toward the position of data technician.

The employee learns the trade on our projects and receives a personal roadmap with practical assignments. In addition, the employee follows vocational training, including Twisted Pair Basic and Twisted Pair Advanced. During regular evaluation moments, we discuss progress and points for development.

The route is expected to take approximately one year. The exact duration depends on the starting level and development in practice.

An employee grows into a data technician when the required training and practical assignments have been completed and he or she has shown the ability to perform the work safely, independently, and at the desired quality level.

 

Theory, practice, and personal development

Within the HTC Academy, we combine technical knowledge with practical experience. Our training programs align with the daily work of data technicians.

Personal development also receives attention. Think of collaboration, communication, customer-oriented working, and personal effectiveness. In this way, we support employees in their current work and in their next steps within HTC International.
