Social Return
In recent years, HTC International has strongly focused on social return; in the coming years, this will be the highest priority for HTC International. Within public tenders, social return is becoming increasingly important; in other words, an organization must adapt to this in order to win projects. Besides the fact that it is important for tenders, this social issue also has an important business function. After all, fewer and fewer students are being encouraged to choose a career in technology, making it increasingly difficult for installation companies and construction organizations to find well-qualified personnel in the future.

Social Responsibility
HTC International considers it its social duty and therefore wishes to lead the way in improving education at the MBO (vocational) level. Through intensive strategic partnerships with various schools in the central and southern Netherlands, HTC International is geared toward structurally developing and improving education in the field of data technology. Data technology/telematics is still a neglected area within education compared to mechanical and electrical engineering.
When looking at contemporary infrastructure or utility construction, data technology has become increasingly important in recent years, to the point where it now plays a comparable role within construction to mechanical and electrical engineering. HTC International defines data technology as the entire field of telematics and network-related ICT. This includes network infrastructure, telephony, CCTV security, access control, fire alarm systems, intrusion detection, IPTV, ICT, and other communication-related applications.
How does HTC International implement this initiative?
- Providing students with accurate information about the content of the field;
- Offering educational and dynamic introductory internships;
- Making high-quality materials available to schools and educational institutions so they can use equipment during lectures that is also used daily on the shop floor;
- Supporting the educational system by improving curriculum materials. Developing curriculum that aligns directly with practical application;
- Training technical teachers so they can integrate the quality standards desired by the market into lectures and the educational system;
- Organizing introductory days at construction sites, with suppliers, or at fellow construction companies;
- Setting up training programs in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and telematics/ICT companies. This ensures students receive a broad education, making them employable at various companies. After all, we are stronger together; it is also easier to create broad support and encourage often rigid educational institutions to adapt to market dynamics;
- Developing an image as a high-quality training institute.
Strategic HRM Policy
This structural quality improvement is intended to ensure a higher influx of potential top technicians. Furthermore, it will create a direct alignment with market needs, minimizing the distance to the labor market. In addition to the fact that HTC International secures its future personnel needs through this strategic choice, the collaboration with MBO Utrecht and the Koning Willem 1 College in ‘s-Hertogenbosch also offers attractive financial opportunities. After all, HTC International can save on recruitment and selection costs and possesses an ideal competitive tool with more cost-effective interns and apprentice technicians. Because HTC International is a leader in the educational field, it is able to filter the best candidates during their training and offer them a job upon completion before they enter the general labor market.
The focus in the coming year will remain on further developing the knowledge level of head technicians and technicians so they can provide the best possible guidance to interns and students in work-study programs. This allows HTC International to increase its capacity in a healthy manner without compromising on quality and flexibility.
Distance to the Labor Market
In addition to collaborating with various vocational schools, HTC International has also entered into a partnership with Installatie Werk. They support HTC International in providing the right guidance during work-study programs. Furthermore, Installatie Werk plays an important role for HTC International in the recruitment process of older employees (50+). Through a tailored retraining process, these employees will be trained and supported to find a place within HTC International at an acceptable level. In doing so, HTC International strives to help employees with a distance to the labor market find employment.
